Description
Over 300 Sea Anglers have been built at Newhaven, being specifically designed for fishing or as roomy workboats. With its 3.35m beam and broad transom, its sea keeping quality is excellent.
Found to be in a good, sound useable state, the Perkins 4.236 diesel offers economic power while propelling the boat along nicely at 11 knots.
The hull and superstructure are GRP, produced in a Lloyds approved workshop. The woodwork is of high quality hardwood adding to the strength and durability of the craft. To add to this, for the first 20 years of the boats life, she was used lightly within the Dovey estuary, greatly benefiting the overall condition of the boat.
Forward of the large aft deck there is a spacious wheelhouse arrangement with helm to starboard. The companion way leads to a practical two berth cabin, with private heads to starboard and simple galley, with twin burner stove and sink to port.
Winner of the 1971 Earls Court, work boats category, the Newhaven Sea Angler 31, although now an older lady, still offers plenty of attractive features as a robust, capable and seaworthy fishing vessel. Alternatively, the boat could make a comfortable coastal cruiser with a little tlc.
