1982 Neptunian 33
The Alan Buchanan designed Neptunian 33 is a traditionally styled, sea kindly and comfortable cruising yacht - a motorsailer that really sails well with a centre cockpit that is deep and safe and well protected from the elements. This yacht has had in excess of £18,000 spent on it in the past few years upgrading all of the electronics, wind and solar power generation systems to make her self-sufficient.
Accommodation :
The accommodation offers up to six berths with two double sleeping cabins separate from the main saloon. In the fore cabin a V berth with inset for two persons with stowage under. Opening hatch to foredeck. Full width heads compartment with marine toilet and washbasin. Hanging locker. In saloon, dinette to port converting to double berth with galley opposite. Force 10 two burner gimballed gas cooker with grill and oven. Stainless steel sink drainer. Cool box. Hot and cold pressurised water system. 300 litres freshwater capacity. Steps up to cockpit. Wheelhouse shelter with canvas canopy (will need replacing or repairing). Steps down to aft cabin with two single berths with stowage under. Separate heads compartment with marine toilet. Heated throughout via an Eberspacher diesel heating system.

History and Construction
Built in 1982 by Tyler Boat Company to a design by Alan Buchanan. White GRP hull with cove line. Bulwarks with teak toe rail. White GRP superstructure with moulded and painted non-slip to deck. Centre self-draining cockpit. Long keel with encapsulated ballast. Keel hung rudder. Wheel steering.

The Neptunian is Ketch rigged. Anodised aluminium masts and booms by Sparlight. Main mast deck stepped in tabernacle. Stainless steel standing rigging. Removable inner forestay. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with lazyjacks. Sailspar headsail furling system. Rod kicker. Lazy bags for the mainsail and mizzen. Two Lewmar 16 sheet winches. Two Lewmar 8 halyard winches.

Mechanical Systems
Located under the cockpit, 1982 Perkins 4.108 four-cylinder 49hp diesel engine (last serviced 2022). Electric start. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Shaft drive to three bladed propellor. Single lever control. 360 litres fuel capacity in twin tanks. 5 knots cruising speed. Maximum speed under power 6 knots. Last out of water maintenance 2022.
Electrical System
1 x 12-volt domestic battery (2019), 1 x 12-volt Engine battery (2021), 1 x 12-volt Anchor winch battery (2019), charging from the engine alternator, 12-volt battery charger, solar panel, wind generator. With 240-volt ring main with shore power connection, immersion heater and inverter.
