Description
Following a change of plans, and the recent refurbishment of the hull and engine, the current owner is selling this unique and attractive conversion of a former tanker barge.
Designed and built in Belgium, she originally supplied fresh water to other boats or canal-side locations between Bruges and Brussels. She is suitable for some of the narrower continental canals.
She was professionally converted to a liveaboard by a Belgian yard in the 1970's. Mechanically she has the benefit of a Gardener 6LB engine which provides plenty of silky power. The vessel also has been converted to sail, gently, with a Gaff Rig.
The hull has been refreshed, including some replating, and a full exterior repaint. The engine has been fully overhauled with many new parts including the starter and alternator. New wiring, fuel and water lines and batteries have been fitted,
Down below in the spacious saloon and fore-cabin is the opportunity to continue with the refresh or alter it to the new owner's requirements. An opening has been created to enter the forward cabin and to create a shower/bathroom. There are many new items yet to be fitted including a bath, stove, wood burner and sink etc.
This unique and attractive, practical liveaboard vessel represents a rare opportunity for somebody to continue working on her and then to cruise both the coastal waters and canal system. A new BSS Certificate will be provided
She can be moored at her current location for the completion of any work required. There is also the opportunity of a London Marina mooring (at extra cost) if required.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
